Zoya
Dhaka→Oakville

I moved from Dhaka to Oakville and could not find a single thing that tasted like home. So I built it. That instinct is the whole of how I work. Events, brand campaigns and partnerships, produced end to end.

Zoya Ahmed, founder of Ghee Mama Productions

I run Ghee Mama Productions from Oakville. It is deliberately small, which means the person who pitches the work is the person who produces it. You do not get handed to an account manager halfway through.

Ten years across agency, nonprofit and founder roles. I also co-founded a construction SaaS platform, which is where the operational side comes from: the SOPs, the timelines, and the belief that a good event is a repeatable process rather than a lucky one.

Most events are decorated. Very few are produced.

It started with a jar of ghee and turned into a company, a booth, a room full of people, and three sold-out events. The difference between a gathering that is decorated and one that is produced is everything behind the day: the concept, the vendors, the run of show, the partnerships, and the content that comes out of it. I have spent ten years on the second version, and I would rather tell you what to cut than sell you more of it.

Autumn Chai 2025

The first one. A celebration of chai, culture and connection.

Context

Created to celebrate the official launch of The Ghee Mama's website, Chai Partea brought together content creators and women-led businesses for an intimate gathering inspired by South Asian chai culture.

Process

Conceptualized and produced end to end, from the event identity and visual storytelling to invitations, signage, tablescapes, guest experience and brand activations. Collaborated with local businesses to curate chai, traditional food, desserts, henna and thoughtful take-home gifts.

Result

A sold-out debut that introduced The Ghee Mama beyond the product itself, brought local creators and businesses together and laid the foundation for future community-led experiences.

Winter Brunch 2025

A slower Sunday. A little nostalgia. A lot of memories.

Context

The second edition of The Ghee Mama Chai Partea, built around the brand's philosophy, Smells Like Memory. An intimate, invitation-led winter brunch bringing together content creators, local businesses and storytellers to recreate the warmth of familiar breakfast tables, shared chai and simpler times.

Process

Conceptualized as a nostalgic, sensory experience with personalized invitations, winter-inspired tablescapes, a memory corner, interactive storytelling and thoughtfully curated keepsakes. From traditional South Asian breakfast favourites and a live food station to custom gifting and brand collaborations, each detail was designed to make guests feel part of the story.

Result

A second chapter for Chai Partea that strengthened its identity as a community-led brand experience. It created space for genuine conversations, shared memories and meaningful connections, showing how a product rooted in nostalgia could bring people together beyond the dining table.

Eid Back Home 2026

For everyone who misses the Eid they grew up with.

Context

Inspired by the nostalgia of celebrating Eid back home, this edition of The Ghee Mama Chai Partea was envisioned as a way to recreate the warmth, chaos and togetherness of a traditional Eid dawat. From familiar food and family traditions to the simple joy of being surrounded by people, the concept brought a piece of home to the South Asian community in Canada.

Process

Developed as a community-led Eid experience combining cultural storytelling, interactive brand activations and a curated marketplace of local businesses. The concept brought together traditional food, chai, henna, Eid gifting, family-friendly activities and content creators. A $40 shopping credit was incorporated into each ticket, encouraging guests to discover and support participating small businesses while enjoying the celebration.

Result

Eid Back Home expanded the Chai Partea concept beyond an intimate social gathering into a larger community and retail experience. By bringing cultural nostalgia, local entrepreneurship and shared traditions together, it created a format designed to strengthen community connections while giving small businesses a meaningful platform to be discovered.

The Well Club 2026

An afternoon of self-care, connection and slowing down.

Context

The Well Club was created to bring women together for an afternoon where wellness felt less like a routine and more like an experience. Built around movement, mindfulness, skincare and connection, the concept encouraged women to step away from their everyday responsibilities and enjoy a few hours dedicated entirely to themselves.

Process

Conceptualized and curated as a multi-sensory wellness experience, bringing together guided Pilates, a refreshing facial cleansing and sheet mask ritual, a live harp sound bath, meditation, reflective journaling and expert-led skincare conversations. Thoughtful sensory details, curated food and drinks, and collaborations with wellness professionals created a seamless journey from movement to relaxation. Every element, from programming and partnerships to the guest experience, was designed to feel personal, welcoming and intentional.

Result

The Well Club brought movement, skincare, mindfulness and community together in one cohesive experience. Guests had the opportunity to explore different wellness practices, connect with other women and enjoy moments of self-care beyond their everyday routines. The event demonstrated The Ghee Mama Productions' ability to transform a collection of individual wellness activities into one thoughtfully curated, memorable experience.

Women in Business Picnic & Potluck 2026

Good food. Good company. Women who show up for each other.

Context

Created to celebrate a year of bringing people together, the Women in Business Picnic & Potluck was built around a simple idea: meaningful connections don't always happen in meeting rooms. Set in Oakville, the event brought women entrepreneurs and creatives together for an evening of community, conversation and connection beyond business cards.

Process

Conceptualized, curated and produced by The Ghee Mama Productions as an intimate outdoor experience. From picnic styling and a community potluck to guided stretching, an interactive painting activity and thoughtful icebreakers, every element was designed to encourage participation and genuine conversations. Local creative talent and photography brought the experience to life, creating a day that felt relaxed, welcoming and intentional.

Result

The Women in Business Picnic & Potluck became a celebration of women supporting women. It brought entrepreneurs and creatives together beyond their businesses, encouraged new relationships and collaborations, and marked an important milestone for The Ghee Mama Productions. A reminder that sometimes the strongest communities are built simply by creating space for people to come together.

Masks & Mane 2026

Facials, fabulous hair, a little creativity and a whole lot of girl time.

Context

Masks & Mane was born from the idea of turning an ordinary self-care appointment into an experience women could enjoy together. Hosted at Skin9 Studio in Oakville, the event brought skincare, hair styling, creativity and social connection under one roof. Rather than guests simply receiving beauty treatments, the goal was to create an intimate, interactive evening where women could discover new beauty rituals, try something different, meet other women and leave feeling pampered.

Process

Conceptualized and produced as a three-hour beauty experience with multiple interactive stations. Guests enjoyed guided facial sessions with Skin9 Studio, personalized hairstyling by GistarAllure, a DIY charm-making bar and a photobooth with printed keepsakes. The experience also included curated food boxes, freshly prepared coffee and matcha, and take-home gua sha tools and facial rollers. With limited facial stations available at once, the event required carefully planned guest rotations to ensure everyone could enjoy the different activities without feeling rushed. From coordinating beauty professionals and creative vendors to styling the space, planning the guest journey, managing registrations and creating branded touchpoints, every detail was designed to create a seamless and memorable evening.

Result

Masks & Mane sold out, bringing together women for an evening that blended professional beauty treatments with hands-on creativity and genuine social interaction. The event transformed a working skincare studio into a multi-activity beauty experience, demonstrating The Ghee Mama Productions' ability to maximize an intimate venue, coordinate multiple service providers and turn everyday beauty rituals into something worth gathering for.

What I do

Five things, done properly

Event and experiential production

Concept, design, vendors, run of show, and the day itself. Produced, not coordinated.

Brand and marketing strategy

Positioning, campaign planning and the content that comes out of it.

Partnerships and community

Fifty-plus partnerships built with creators, sponsors and local businesses.

Content and campaign delivery

Short-form video, photography and social, produced as part of the work rather than after it.

Operations and systems

Process, SOPs and the unglamorous machinery that makes an event repeatable.

Tell me what you are planning.

An event, a launch, a campaign, or something that does not have a name yet. You will get an honest answer about whether it is worth doing, and roughly what it takes.
